I think it works best with those that don't "pee". 'scuse my French, please. But the main purpose was for horses so I think you should give it a whirl.
My question is 'Does zeolite have any negative effects?'
I'm asking that question because my girls dust-bathe in the stuff after I remove the poop.

Read the website, but there seems to be no lung problems for the animals. I wear a mask when I scoop, for all the other things in the poop. My girls think it's for dustbathing also.

I built a poop board following the wonderful advice on this board. Loved the idea. I put several bags of sweed pdz in it and loved the idea of scooping poop out of it. I had the sweet pdz in the tray for 3 months. I had such a horrible layer of dust on everything. I would walk into the coop in the morning and there would be a haze. I was worried about my hens as they are only 14 weeks old and myself with the dust derived from the pdz. I cleaned it out of the tray and bought several bags of clay litter and put in the tray. I shop vacuumed everything except the original bedding on the floor. It has been several days and I really like the clay litter and no dust in the air; Same ventilation as with the pdz. I have a big round tub that I have sand and dirt in for them to dust themselves when the weather gets bad and they can't dust bathe in the large run. The pdz did not work for me even though I loved the thought of it. Very happy with the clay litter and it is a lot less expensive.
