Thank you so much Donna. :) I just got an email 15 minutes ago from the BYC project manager saying they were featuring my coop on the home page this week (the Schoop.) It's really a full circle because it was Trish (TheSpoiledChicken) that led me to the company that we used...after reading this thread about the sweet PDZ, and seeing her own coop. What a hoot! My face hurts from smiling so much!
Wow! Your coop is amazing & inspiring! Found this thread 3 days ago and have read through page 60, lol. DH thinks I'm insane

but so much info I'm enjoying! We also have brutal winters, high in the Colorado Rockies. Thanks for sharing your beautiful coop!

I LOVE this thread! I just found it this morning and will be updating my coop (it needs it anyways, it was here long before we moved in) and going out to get PDZ! Who would have thought I would be so excited about poop! Ha!

I love the pdz poop board, best thing I learned on BYC! I have an "L" shaped board with two roosts, one just a little lower than the other in the event of pecking order issues. I now have six five-week old chicks that I just started putting on the low roost because their Mom decided it was time to ditch them and start laying again and the poor little things were miserable on the floor. It's so funny to see their little poops all lined up on the pdz, compared to the big girls.

I am new to chicken owning and actually am doing it "underground" b/c of my city regulations which we are trying to change NOW. I am addicted to this site as well so hope you have fun and learn alot of different chicken things

Where about in Colorado are you? I'm an original native I live in southeast Aurora close to Parker & Centennial. Make sure you check out the Colorado forum and say hi to everyone..and welcome again =)

Hi Veronica! I'm up in Georgetown and I'm finding out there are at least 4 families up here now with new chickens! I didn't realize there was a Colorado forum and will definitely check it out! I didn't realize Aurora was dragging their feet on allowing chickens? Funny with Denver changing their zoning...I'm sure you'll be "legal" soon,

I'm originally from SoCal, but moved to SW New Mexico about 30 years ago, then to Georgetown 20 years ago. We had many meat and laying chickens in NM, (& raised Polish, Sultans, Silkies, etc., even Call ducks, but there was no net, no Pinterest, only DH's basic knowledge, and a new awareness and "Mother Earth News" subscription. Our 6 girls will definitely be much more spoiled! Our coop, which I hope is finished this weekend, is 4 x 4 raised and DH built a full drawer bottom. I just got Sweet PDZ in both forms so I can experiment. Can't wait to move the girls in, but granddaughter's gotta be here for the big move! :)
