I made(got the idea from here) a type of ladder. I made it about 3 foot wide and there's 4 steps cut the corner of 2by4 for a flat surface for there feet, and put it on hinges so i can get under it and put it at a 45 degree angle. My coop is 10by4 and part of my shed also i put the roost opposite the door. 5-6 can roost on the top one and a couple on the next step down. I don't use a poop board but was thinking of making one with a door on the outside so you can just wash it out every couple of days from the inside.

thanks! good idea,,the end of the shed I sectioned off, has a double door, so easy access from outside, and we put a door from the inside into the chicken area as well, I like the ladder idea..I think I'll have to put mine on the end near their little chicken door because of a window there , and nesting boxes will be on opposite side..I 'think", haven't quite finished the inside just yet.
