Definetly abnormal, and it you can afford to, having a vet look at it would be best. If I ad to guess, I would guess bacterial infection, coccidiosis, worms, or a combination of those.

Can you post more pictures? Next step, if it still looks abnormal would be to have it tested for bacteria and/or yeast.
I also have reservations about the competency of this vet though possibly wrongly so. It stems from her telling me late one afternoon that my duck was not ready to lay anytime soon and there was no egg in her abdomen and well she layed the next morning. Maybe it's hard to tell though. Am I being to hard on her?
Was she a avian vet or just a normal vet?
