My little silkie has some poopie problems! She constantly keeps having deira. What should I do?

She is about 7 months old and we feed her pellets and crumbles with some oyster shells. The brand of the food is Country Acers and The Southern States brand.

Diet may be a little rich (high in protein) and low in fiber. Try adding small amounts of black oil sunflower seed and/or green vegetables. Upping fiber can promote normal gut function. Chicken normally process a lot of plant fibers along with insects and like which give intestines a lot of volume to work with. The feeds we often use are often too easy to digest and can result in runny poos.

Okay. Thank you some much!! You have been a Great help! Also she eats green grass would that be considered a green Veggie???

what would you use to treat worms and what other nastys?

Look into checking for worm eggs in feces to make certain barking up correct tree.

Look up a fellow calling himself dawg53. He takes the use of pesticides to control worms very seriously. My method usually involves culling although culled animals may be de-wormed as dawg53 does it before such treated birds go out door or into pot.

Could her vent be blocked by poop? And how do you unclog it? She was just fine until she started laying eggs.
