My two chicks love pooping in one corner where they sit and stare/play in a mirror I put in the brooder. I cant seem to keep poop off their little feet. The brooder is cleaned daily but it's the same thing every day. What health concerns does a chick face with poop on their feet? Should I make due diligence and keep them clean like I've been doing?

Can you move the mirror somewhere else? I also hate poopy feet! When I had my little chicks in the brooder, I just bought one of those 15 pack of rolls of paper towels from Costco and I used to change the paper towels two times a day. The pack lasted me till I was ready to put them out in their backyard coop.

I'll move the mirror and see if it changes. I was thinking that since they just love sitting in front of it, no matter where the mirror is moved the poop corner follows.

I’m using paper towels. With 7 chicks pooping all over the tote I just cover the poop up with another layer of paper towel. I’ve already done it three times today. Underneath the paper towels I have shavings so it’s comfortable for them.

Maybe put several mirrors in the brooder so the poop isn’t concentrated in just one spot...it is spread out a little more. :idunno

Moving the mirror will just move where the poop accumulates and the feet will still be messy......chicks poop, a lot, so when something draws them to one area that is going to see an accumulation of poop
