Looks like I am going to have to find a new home for one of my pretty Speckled Sussex hens

A while ago one of the roos started pecking at the back of her neck...causing a terrible wound. I separated her from the flock and started treating her wound. After a while, I took her out of the small outside coop and put her with the others in the flock and taking what I presumed was the offending roo ( both are Black Orpingtons ) and put him in the cage/coop.

Now one of the birds...either the other roo or perhaps the older hens is picking on her neck again and the wound is back.

So, looks like my choices are to get rid of both adult roos or the hen.

Why don’t you get rid of the roosters? You don’t NEED a rooster. You could keep your hens and one or none of the roosters.

I would not get rid of at least one rooster. I have taken in hens that people wanted my father to kill because they had hens only and she started to look and act like rooster. They thought she was one. No more eggs from her either!
