poorly eye?

this little one hatched a few days ago and we have noticed that his eye looks like this. any idea what it is?

is it the colour of the eye which concerns you?
If it isn't just the photo/lighting and his eye has that grey colour in real life, it does look like he could be blind in that eye.
The surrounding area looks a little odd though, @WVduckchick
 
Are the eyelids opening and closing?
I would suggest a cotton ball, wetted with warm water, gently rubbed across the eye. It’s probably gunk/fluid from hatching. That stuff gets hard, but can be gently wiped away. Take your time and be gentle.

it’s the colour of the eye yes

i shall try that. do you think he could be bling. he is a little clumsy
 
Since he eats a drinks he is not totally blind and will grow to be a beautiful duck; many birds go through life with just one good eye, and who knows, given some time and attention, perhaps the eye will improve.
