Okay, Lady, here's the monolouge I promised:
All I could do was stare ahead. All I could do was roughly wipe away the tears falling from my smoky eyes.
My father. The only one I'd actually loved. Dead. Leaving me trapped alone, in this darkened world. He would always tell me, "I don't care if you don't learn anything else from me, just know this; and never forget it, either: You find out what you truly love, when it comes time to let go of them, you fight until you cannot fight anymore to get them back."
Those words echo in my head to this day. Haunting my dreams. Invading my mind. Before, they were peaceful and calming. But now they are the only remnant of my father. He has left me nothing but those words, and traces of his love.
Watching the glossy wood in front of me, I could swear that I could feel his hand brushing my shoulder. I look up, as I had done so many times before, only to see empty air.
When I open my eyes again, I see it in front of me. It was a shame I was the only one there, in the lee of the autumn wind, my feet brushing the cold stones supporting me. The wood holding him was nestled in those stones.
I realize instantly, since that dreaded moment that he breathed his last... he wasn't my father.... anymore. He was a part of me I had to let go of: Forever.
