Porter's turkey temparaments

Just about 90% done with separating my breeding groups for select spring breeding. Have 7 breeding pens done so far, separating by variety 1 Tom and 6 Hens in each.

I hope to have a nice setup like that someday soon. Since I'm just ordering poults I have some time .

I briefly made eye contact with mine while unboxing them. It was a fatal mistake. They imprinted.

They're extremely docile, more so than anything I bred and raised myself. If I want a particular bird, I can literally walk over to it and pick it up. No problems whatsoever with these guys.

That's the best. Fantastic to know Porters' birds are not just beautiful. I thought that would be the case. I'm glad I started this thread. I hope it helps other folks to decide to look into Porter's.

Except their idea of helping is different than mine.

I love that about turkeys. I had one that wanted/demanded anything shiney. She gently pulled the glasses off my face and ran with them on more than one occasion.

Do any of these birds in particular have a better flavor? I'm looking to pick up a true breeding traditional-ish looking bird that still produces white/light breast meat. I was leaning towards a straight Narragansett before coming across these lovely porter birds
