Position of air cell during last 3 days of incubation!

So day 18 starts tomorrow morning, I was wondering since they are shipped silkie eggs, mind you all the air cells seem to have reattached aside from many are dipping to the side. Should I candle them and place the eggs in a position, so the eggs lay down with the lowest dip in the air cell lined up with the top of the egg? Or does it not really matter at this point?

lowest dip up, on day 18 they will inner pip, then maybe take another 24 hrs to outer pip, then after outer pip it may be another 24 hrs, til hatch. here is my latest egg day 20 due tomorrow.

Congratulations Gimmie Birdies! Neat photos! I was wondering the same thing about the dip of the air cell, day 21 Saturday here's hoping they hatch! I ordered more Silkie eggs and a real incubator this time. It's been much easier to manage! I'll post photos soon hopefully!

That's encouraging to know, I have 3 out of the 11 that have huge half saddle air cells. There is hope!

my chick had a big moist belly button- the cord was small and had fallen off, I dipped the belly button in a bit of flour, helps to dry it up.

Yup, I just did my final candling. One of the 16 eggs was dead, a give away was that the air cell was broken and liquid was moving into when I candled the egg. So now I am down to 15 good looking eggs going into lockdown in the morning! I marked the area where each air cell dipped, so I place that area of the egg at the top. I am hoping for the best and some painted silkies hopefully!! The one I opened was a black or blue silkie not what I wanted, but I will hope for the best!
