Possible broken egg stuck in vent

THanks! I havd never needed meds for my chickens in the past. I appreciate the offer.
I have been reading that an antibiotic might be good. SInce I have never given any of my chickens a antibiotic before I dont know if this is something I could pick up a t a feed store or would I need to take her to the vet?
I prefer the natural remedies but want to know all my options.

In most states, then only antibiotics available are injectable Tylan and injectable procaine penicillin G. Tylan is more for respiratory issues, but penicillin can be used in wounds and might be helpful. If using procaine penicillin, get syringes and needles (20 gauge) and give 1/4 ml once daily for 4 days. The best antibiotic to have in case of emergency is Baytril, currently banned for chickens in the US, but used by some if you don’t eat the chickens or the eggs. Many order it online and keep it around, and here is a good link where it gives souces and dosage in posts 1-3:

I will be in Lihue town at 1230. Let me know if you want me to pick up anything at Harveys or Alohas for you on my way. Headed to Kapaa after that. Can meet you in Kapa'a. I'll be turning off my computer at 11:15 our time. My experience is it is best to do everything you can possibly do as fast as you possibly can cuz these little girls can go down quick. We can talk about all natural when your girl looks and feels better.

How is your hen doing? I picked up some antibiotics. Doxycycline Tiamulin. Maybe someone on this site can give their 2 cents and you can read up on it. Let me know if i can get it to you. I may be passing your way AGAIN tomorrow.
