OHLD you have me literally laughing out loud over here!

That makes sense though.

And actually she was quiet today! When I throw her off (not literally throw but I assume you knew that lol) she protests loudly yes but today when she ran out by herself, she didn't make a peep. I was really surprised. And if the noise bothered them, I think the other hens would be attacking the Australorps and Bunny. They're the loudest of them all :lau

The one broody I let set, behind wire right in the coop, got into knock down, drag out, comb ripping fights with 3 different hens when she rejoined the flock. She was a mild mannered mid ranker before setting, the fights happened over the main feeder, she got challenged and went at it beak and feet and neither bird would back down. Cockbird couldn't break them up, he tried - poor guy, so I did when the combs started bleeding. It was all pretty quickly resolved, but boy she flaunted her new status for quite awhile, feinting at any bird that came near. I could almost hear her mad cackle as she intimidated her previous superiors.

I probably should have just gotten the cage out but Penny finally broke on her own the other day. I think maybe she started to melt?

She still sleeps in the box though, along with an Easter Egger now, but I think they might be getting bullied on the roost. The Australorps and even my other EE have gotten much meaner about roosting.

But she spends her whole day off the nest now

And the new coop is finally finished. The only thing left to do now is clean it out (still has all the tools and stuff in it) and move their run over to the new coop and then they can move in
