Thank you for all the advice! Sorry I never replied.
Turns out she might not have been broody after all and she never went back on the nest after these two times or maybe a third time.
But right after she got off, another one went on. I left her on your advice and she did get off on her own. But one night she was on there at like 10pm even with everyone else on the roost. I left her though.
I think she was back on yesterday or the other day but seemed to have gotten off the nest again.
Anyway, long story short, I don't think they were broody but the second Orpington (yes it was another Orpington lol) was definitely thinking about it.
The reason I thought they were broody is because they normally never sit on the nest like that and do stand up for themselves so it was strange behavior.
HOWEVER.
I just found that second hen again and she is DEFINITELY broody today.
I took her off the nest and she went without a fight, just a bit of noise.
But WOW! The difference between a hen I THOUGHT was broody and one that ACTUALLY is is incredible!!
She was completely pancaked on the eggs!!
And considering I haven't collected the eggs in a few days, it's no wonder she went broody! There were more in the other boxes but not many
So from now on, I won't remove hens and will just leave them there.
But gosh, it's hilarious seeing an ACTUAL broody.
She looked more pancaked in real life than the pictures but yeah.
And I've decided that I'm not going to let them go broody because the coop and run is too small and dirty atm. Maybe once I finish the new coop and run. And I have to clean the run up and add some dry stuff, had so much rain lately
