TBH I didn't think of it :/

Well, my dad suggested it but then I forgot and also thought it would be easier to place it on the outside instead of trying to fit it to the inside. But really it wasn't easier because I had to do all those stupid zip ties....

I guess I could break them all and redo it but I think it's too late now.

Next time I think I am going to actually think things through before I do them... :lau

As for the rain part, it's going in the run which was previously uncovered but I recently put a tarp up. Rain might come in from the sides though but I think I'll put another one up on the side maybe

Can I use a rabbit/small animal water bottle for her or should I just use a regular bowl or chicken watering nipples? I wasn't sure if she could use it?

Use whatever works....she certainly needs water and food while caged.
Rabbit waterer might work, bowl will work but will probably spill.

Yeah, I have a little bowl for her food and then the rabbit bottle and a small plastic container to put the water nipple in if she can't use the rabbit one.

Yeah, I was afraid a bowl will spill or get messy which is why I was hoping a bottle would work.

I guess I just didn't know if chickens could operate it? It's kind of a stupid question but I didn't know if the mammals had to suck on it to get water out therefore chickens couldn't use it or if it worked by tapping like the nipples

I have no idea how rabbit waterers work......never messed with one.
I use these on my crates.....just took pics today and am writing a DIY article about them.

I guess I'll just have to mess with it and see if they work.

But wow yours looks like a great idea! Those are the kind I use in their run on a 5 gallon bucket so they are used to them. Probably would he better to use something she's used to?

Only problem is finding one. I ordered a pack of 5 so I know I have an extra lying around somewhere if I can find it. Also have tons of vertical ones but I don't think those work as well

Drill a very clean hole just slightly larger than the small end of the tapered thread...
....so you can thread it in far enough to seal but still have a space to hang it on the wire.

Thanks! That was helpful. I think we drilled the holes on the bucket a little too small or screwed it in too tight or something
