I know. but of the 4 older he’s the only turning red so far so I’m hopeful the other three are pulletts at least. The other 9 we are waiting it out LoL!

Give the little boy a chance! I didn't want one either, but ended u with a handsome beauty. He is a total love and the only chicken in the flock that listens to me! He may be a freeloader because he never lays an egg, but if he always comes when I call, that is worth more!!

Not sure at this point, will really depend on him. Hubby isn’t very keen on keeping him but I’m open to it. We live in the country on 3 acres so no worries about being allowed to keep him or not.

The Orp boys I've owned have always made nice additions. I have a Lavender right now and he's absolutely gorgeous. Plus he's HUGE. He's just now found out how to mate, so he's a little "over zealous" at the moment, but hey. Never had any problems with them.

I agree though. You have him, may as well try him out. Don't not like him just because he's a he!
