I have a 2 year old Silkie chicken. She laid a crushed shell weeks ago then went into a molt. I scheduled a vet appointment for 2 weeks later. She started laying again 3 days ago, the next day I took her to a vet since I had the appointment and was worried she might have an infection or egg peritonitis since the shell she laid before seemed to have some blood and there was yellow in her poop.

I've been adding crushed calcium tablets to her food already, but the vet also gave her a calcium shot.

The vet did an xray and was concerned about an ectopic egg because of the position of the egg on the xray.

My chicken normally lays one egg a day. I felt an egg inside her while at the vet and the xray shows the egg inside. But she didn't lay that day and didn't lay the next day either. She finally laid an egg today, but knowing her prolific egg laying, I'm worried about the two days where there were no eggs.

I felt her abdomen a few hours after she laid and I can feel an egg where the xray showed one. I want to ask for your opinion. Is it possible some chickens have their oviduct in strange places or is there still an egg in her abdominal cavity?

It may have been turning as they do before being laid.
I think it's explained in this excellent video, which is worth watching regardless:

So she woke up today and was very active but then stopped eating and seemed lethargic. She pooped well at first but since the afternoon, has pooped 3 poops what just contained white and water. I thought I felt an egg last night so I gave her a warm bath and put her in a dark place in case she's egg bound. I can't feel the egg I thought I felt yesterday anymore and when I put lubricant on her bottom and stuck a finger in, I couldn't feel an egg.

Is it possible constipated chickens act this way too?
