Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

Thats because they see you as the dominant bird. When a bird is flipped onto his back, and they disobey the one that flipped them over, it can mean lots of trouble!

Everyone one in bed already wow. Great news got my water back on. The cold started working right after I got back from 8 am Mass. and then borrowed a heat gun on set on hot water pipes and it opened up about 5:30 or so. Also got 48 dozen Boter Kockjes (dutch butter cookies) baked today. Almost ready to mail the goodies to family. Hope your Bird is better granny. Was a wopping 14 above today with snow and blowing snow, winter storm advisory and all the area schools shut down early just not the ones in Dickinson itself. Even Domino's and Pizza Hut would not do deliveries. Didn't stop me from running to evil walmart to get some cheap containers for the cookies to e shipped. I think the people around here are becoming wimps it really wasn't that bad other then visibility of about 1/2 block. Full night at the motel first one this month. The oil boom is slowing down either that or all their helpers are heading south.

I've been mulling it over, and I've decided on my eggs. I'm going to be ordering a batch of quail/guinea eggs!

You and starkasm inspired that decision, granny.

Ebay is selling eggs right now, so I think I'll get them in the next few weeks or so. Maybe after I have a bit of Christmas money.

guinea is fine now. i would think a little weak from the blood loss. i must be one turning into a wimp because its COLD ! blood thinners dont help though. i feel for my chickens and guineas. no matter how many people tell me they can "handle" the cold. i have a kitten in my chicken coop and i know its very cold too. i have too many heat lamps going in the pole barn for babies. i cant run any to the coop without throwing the breaker and then none have heat.i cant wait for my electric bill to come in. im expecting about 350. oh well, their worth it. what i need is one big brooder/ grow out pen that would house them all so i could use less heat lamps. i have 5 going right now. of course i wasnt expecting these babies, they snuck up on me. who would of thought a hen would hatch babies in 20 degree weather? not me. but i was wrong!

where are the eggs from cheyen? guineas are seasonal layers. late spring to early fall. not sure about that buy.

I actually haven't found the guinea eggs yet. I'm hoping someone has a weird bunch of guineas that might be laying this late into the season, but no luck yet. I found a quail breeder on ebay, and her birds are just beautiful! They seem to be laying every day by the looks of her listings. I'll try and find a link to her page for you.

Anyway, it's okay if I have to wait a while for the guineas. I just thought it would be better to have the two batches closer in age, so I wouldn't have to have two separate broods.

you would have to separate anyway, guineas take 28? days to hatch and would step all over the quail babies. i have been looking everywhere for a tolbunt polish hen or hatching eggs so if you run up on something like that during your search let me know please.
