Bleh!

Sounds like she had some internal problems.
sounds like that to me too. cancer more than likely.

That's what I'm thinking, too. I've had the good luck to not lose a hen like that yet. But I hear it's pretty common in a lot of production breeds.

Contrats on your new camera there Granny. Hope you can figure it out I have a camera tried it once and then gave up (LOL) so there it hangs beside the cpu gets dusted occasionally and then put back. Don't want to wake the evil troll camera. Got my goodies mailed to brothers and sister on Weds and my brother in Chandler,Az got his packages on Friday night. Haven't heard for the other ones so don't know yet. Spent over $80.00 in shipping this year, that's a couple gifts alone.

Found a dead hen Friday. I think it was the one who laid the huge wrinkled egg, that was full of blood and something else that is not part of a normal egg was also an yolk. Not sure what it was but put me off eggs for a couple days. There is a definite reason to crack your eggs in a separate bowl!!!!!!!

Any ideas as to what was in that egg??? Was she molested by alien's part of her egg making bits??? Is it contagious??? I bow before the panels expertise and wisdom.

Scott
not contagious. look up meat eggs. wrinkles are something different. check their diet.

Haha, my PO gets so anxious whenever I buy something. I ordered a handsome swedish roo, and they employees were terrified of him! He was in a box with holes so small you couldn't even see him. It was about 4 in the morning and they called saying I had to come pick him up right away because he was crowing and scaring the women in the office.

lol, wish that had been the case here. they could care less if they die.

That's terrible! My PO is no better with live animals sometimes. It really depends on who's working there when you deal with them.

I once ordered some hatchery chicks for a friend in my name, and when I went to pick them up, they wouldn't hand them over. Said they wouldn't let a minor pick up (her own) mail. I had to wait hours for my mom to get home before I could feed and water them. What's worse, they told my mom she should send the chicks back (they were only a day old, and had already been stressed out without food or water for almost two days) to teach me a lesson for ordering things underage! If I'm able to order them off the website without verifying my age, I should be able to pick them up, too! Especially if it's a life or death situation with live animals!

Other than that one time, I've never had much trouble with my PO. Funny thing is, every other employee let me pick things up without an adult. Some people are just unreasonable.

Yes, it was in my name. I didn't have a state ID, and still don't. I was 15 at the time, and in my state anyone 15 or older has to have a driver's license, to have one. I think it's silly. I can't legally have a driver's license until I'm 16 and 3 months old. Why make the requirement 15? Age specifications annoy me to death sometimes.

Even if I had a state ID, that wouldn't have mattered. They wanted me to be a legal adult to pick up the chicks. That's in the past now, and I make sure not to deal with them by myself anymore.
