Welp, school's closed tomorrow. Talk about nice weather, lol. Speaking of eggs... I knew it was too good to be true. Never trust a broody production hen. Guess who the egg eater is, lol? Lucky I took half of them away from her.

Well, I haven't seen her leave the nest yet. The others are free range. Production hens are just plain old factory birds used for eggs. Sex links, RIRs, leghorns, etc... The ones that don't tend to go broody. Guess she thought those eggs would do more good in her belly than under it, lol.

ooooh, i wouldnt like that. my rir went broody last year. hatched a couple. i didnt think they went broody but i was wrong again. lol did they close school because of snow? we are supposed to get 3-5 in. tonight/tomorrow.sick of this stuff. i moved 5 roosters to the dog pen today even if its not finished. put the younger ones in the coop. was able to empty 6 brooders. thats a lot of work cut out for me.i stretched a couple tarps on one side and across the top. they kept beating me out of it before i could get the next one in. ended up trimming all their wings

Yep, it's going to snow. We may have Wednesday off depending on how much we get. They're saying 3-6 inches, but whenever that happens, it ends up being a foot or more.

Wow i sure am glad i live in colorado where it was almost 70 here uesterday and 60 here today. If it snows, it isually doesnt last long. It is supposed to be a high of 22 on thursday though. Then 55 on friday. You would expect colorado to be mich colder and it can be. Just not at the moment. The chickens and quail are loving the warmer weather. Stay warm, safe and dry.

So exciting, three now and another couple on their way. So far they all have the same markings. Forgot how teeny they were.
