Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

If you've still got the body from the one you already culled, you can send it to your state's CDC, I think. VA has a building with a separate office for testing livestock samples. It's not free, but if you're planning on selling them, it might be worth it.

i have never looked for it but its probably in indy. long way from here. i am not going to be able to sell them anyway. chickens dont get colds. anything like that and they are carriers for life. i would love to know where it came from.

I'd send a carcass anyway. Better safe than sorry. Plus, it could help narrow down where it might have come from. I say pop the unfortunate guy in the freezer if you haven't buried him yet.

I looked into it. In VA, it's not the CDC that takes care of it, it's the VA Department of Ag. and they do necropsies for about $50+ shipping if you're far away. It's probably something similar where you're at.

cheyen, i fell asleep talking to you hahahhaha 4 hrs. later..... i read about the autopsy , ya, im not doing that.

did your eggs come today? how many are you supposed to get?

Lol, I fell asleep too. Missed dinner and everything. No eggs yet today, or babies. Supposed to get 15 chicks, and 10 eggs, plus a few extra in case of breakage. I'm tearing my hair out.
