Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

They have until tomorrow to get here. If they show up after that, I can hold the seller liable for my hatch rate. I'm not terribly concerned about it. It won't be the seller's fault that UPS screwed up, but his page says he does refunds.

at least you have the option. but you wont know until you candle. by then they will tell you its too late. my polish is getting worse. lost a lot of weight. tell me something fat to give him. he is pooping green now too. can be caused by
starvation

Yoghurt is a good thing to give sick chickens, Esp. if his poop is green. Aides in digestion. You could also try giving him some electrolytes, like gatorade or save-a-chick. It'll perk him up, and he'll be more willing to eat.

thanks, i will go get him some tomorrow. the new antibiotics should be here in a day or two. i think he is willing to eat, he just cant see well enough to find the food. i cleaned his eyes and still have to tap on the water for him to find it and when he does he drinks tons

If his eyes are crusty, are his nostrils the same? If he can't smell, he won't eat as much, even if he looks willing to eat. If his nostrils are crusted, I'd give 'em a good washing, too.

they are beyond crusty, i have been cleaning them 2 times a day and it kinda looks like i am removing black hair.. the second i get his eyes open the bubbles come and very thick from the nose. thats why i wonder if i can give something like benadryl. my son is highly allergic to feathers, do you think if i brought him in the house at the other end where he dont go it would be ok? i could clean and feed better from here. i have the babies in the family room about half way through the house he would be on the end.

I think it'd be okay if you told your son first. That way he'd have a warning, lol. I'm not sure about benadryl, maybe the kids kind. If you have any vasaline, you could rub it on the outside part of his nostrils. It won't stop it from crusting over, but it'll be much easier to remove. I did that for my cat when she had a respiratory infection. It's like peeling burnt bits off of a pan that has pam on it.

I will look into the benadryl.
