Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

Haha, I have to keep the chickens to a minimum. Our house is zoned as agricultural, but we have neighbors pretty close by. We live on two acres, but only about half an acre is chicken friendly (the rest is a forest). I'm going to have to give up some of my roos come spring... We're getting crowded. It's either another coop, or less birds!

Well, the dinosaur eggs are due today. No pips yet... I'm getting nervous. They weren't sold as hatching eggs, but hopefully they pull through.

Well then it's quite obvious you need to start building another coop!! :p

Be patient, just like real babies, nothing is exact. Some come early, some come late...and then there's still the guinea possibility LOL!!

This is our SugarPlum at 2 months. (she's 3 months now)

Yeah, I guess you're right. But if they are guinea, will they be alright having not been turned for three days?

Yes they will be fine. The most crucial part of turning is that first week and 1/2 - 2 weeks because of them sticking to the shell. They're pretty developed at this point.
I wouldn't panic yet. No internal pips?

My chukars hatched 1 late at night, 6 the next day, then 1 the day after. They did just fine and still are.
They're just over a month now.

I don't have anywhere dark enough to candle them right now... Maybe I have a box or something to do that. If not, I'll candle them tonight (if no one has pipped by then). Man, I'm hoping they aren't guinea. I still haven't gotten used to how ugly those things are!

Lol!
Here's the thing though. They start out cute and that's how they get you!

Gradually they change.....

Til they turn into the blue headed freaks, but by then you already love them!!
