Dubbing usually leaves a small bit of comb left, and is popular in showing game birds like Old English. It sounds like you'll have to dub the entire comb (poor girl), so make sure she has access to shade and water as well as sunlight afterwards, as the comb helps to regulate her body temperature.

My cat decided to embrace her instincts and caught a bird today. My sister was there to see it, and having a big heart, decided to intervene. Now I'm on watch for an mortally wounded martin. Cat would've made quick work of it, but my sister's just a softie. Oh well. I put him somewhere dry and secluded to let him go peacefully.

Hi all! I hope everyone stayed safe on the holiday. I think at this rate Felix is going to end up being a house partridge. He's really becoming one with the cats, lol. They've got a two-compartment cat dish, and I filled one side with game bird food, and one side with cat food. They eat and sleep together now. I've got some (bad quality) pics of them. My stepdad said I could borrow his camera tomorrow, so I'm thinking I'll just take a bunch of pics of all the little birdies!

Starkasm, when can I tell what sex Felix is? He(?) still isn't fully feathered, even though the chicken chicks we got around the same time he hatched are. One of 'em has even started to squat! What a big girl.
