Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

I'll give them a few days if they don't hatch on time.

Yay! I would laugh if you ended up with bunch of "blue-headed freaks" - that's what my hubby calls our guineas!
But I'm quite sure they're chukar (or pheasant or guinea or ....)

If I end up with guineas (or dinosaurs, or miniature ostriches, or whatever), I don't think I'd mind too much.

What do you guys think about me trying another sort of experiment? My friends are trying to convince me that if I buy eggs from an asian food store and incubate them, they'll hatch! Apparently, there's an asian dish people eat that involves partially incubating eggs and then cooking them!

Should I give it a shot? The asian cuisine shop closest to me sells pallets of chicken, duck, quail, and even chukar eggs! They certainly wouldn't be anything more than layer/pet quality, since the pallets aren't even labeled. But I think it would be interesting to see what happens!

I've heard of that dish. I have a friend from Malaysia and she told me about it! Ewww But I'm sure we eat some stuff that they would find icky :D
I don't know if you can incubate them. I'm sure if you asked the people at the shop they might know??

Since all of my bators are full, I'll probably wait until after the chukars and orpies hatch to try it. Besides... I'll have to pick which eggs I want. Maybe I'll start a poll.

I don't think I'll be able to tell if they're fertile or not, since they won't have been incubating... The eggs are pretty cheap, and come in a basic pallet of thirty, so I don't think it'll bother me much if they end up not hatching. What's five bucks out of my pocket?
