Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

Haha, sounds about right.

Hopefully the next batch will be all girls.. I'm not known for having a good girl to boy ratio. I still have a hard time getting rid of the roos, too... I have five of them now.

here it comes on saturday at 10 pm. he is a vet in central mi. that does farm calls , he is funny , works with 4-h kids but the show is graphic and the cows are just gross

My mom had cows when we were kids and one of my sisters does now. I have no need to have one, my daughter is allergic to milk. But even if that wasn't the case, I don't feel the need to own anything that sticks it's tongue up its nose. ewwwww

When we first moved back up here we got 4 little chicks from my mom - two roosters, we gave one to my sister because he kept going after my daughter. That left us with one. Then we got "hens" from the local feed n grain place and we got a rooster in with them. That's 2. Then my sister gave us two hatching eggs. A bantam and a regular - both roosters. That's 4. Then the next year she gave my daughter another hatching bantam egg - rooster. that's 5. Then we got more from the local feed and grain place and I suspect the speckled sussex is a boy. that's 6.
Then we ordered bantams. The first 8 there are 5 roosters. that's 11. The next two batches some are still hard to tell but it looks like at least a few so far..... Plus the baby bantams we've hatched, it looks like a couple roosters.
They all get along for the most part so we keep em. Sigh.....

I don't think my mom would let me get away with 11 roosters.

All of mine were raised together, so they get along well. Luckily three of the five are bantams, so their crows are pretty pitiful. It saves my poor neighbor's ears.

We have 3 full sized (maybe 4 depending on the Sussex). The rest are bantams. :)
Our neighbors are - my Mom about 100 yards as the crow flies - my sister about the same distance in another direction, my brother about 200 yards through the woods and another sister in yet another direction. We all live on about 20acres and the nearest neighbor is about 1 mile down the road. Other than that mostly seasonal camps out this way. :)
So most of my family has their own roosters - no one to complain lol.
My brother only has 2 dogs, a cat and 2 ducks. He's not as crazy as the rest of us!!!
