Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

Went to check on the little ones this morning. I thought one of the chukars was just sleeping in its funny little way, but it wasn't. Poor little Archie passed away.

I guess he had a lot of problems after being stuck in that egg for so long... I'll have to order a few chicks in the near future to keep Moose company.

Oh Cheyen I'm so sorry.

Thanks, Starkasm. I wasn't going to get my hopes up, since they were meant to be eaten, not hatched. It's still pretty disappointing, though.

Well, at least Moose still has his morpington buddies.

Moose is going to be the tamest little chukar on earth! I think he'd make a good pet. They don't get very big so it's perfect :)
Remember my sister stole one of mine and it's too small to put in with anything else of hers (she's normal and stopped hatching stuff months ago!). So it thinks it's a person. I offered her a quail but they are tiny so she's too freaked out to take one. So hers is just by itself with her and her son for it's family. It seems perfectly happy with that.

Well, I would raise him alone, but he seems to have really taken a liking to the morpingtons. I've caught him using them as mattresses twice already, lol. If I see any problems arising with the size difference, I'll separate them. But for the time being, they'll be brooder mates.

I don't think size will be an issue. We put or late hatching guinea baby in with them because the other guineas we're being mean. Well the chukars are sweet so it wasn't a problem. The guinea is about 2x their size now and they all get along fine.
