Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

No, they aren't new. The little hooligans dug under the coop to look for some fresh grass. They don't seem to understand the concept of grassless winters.

The eggs won't get here until next week. Patience, granny!

just to relize i need 2 more. i bought 150ft. roll of chicken wire and have now decided i dont want to use it , i want a solid roof. any ideas?

I hear a lot of people use wood pallets as cheap roofing. I had to bring my silkie hen inside today, because that darn hawk picked off the rest of her flock. I've done everything I can to deter the stupid thing. Luckily, she had a roo in there, so I should still be getting fertile eggs. They'll probably go in with the quail.

I'm not sure how to build a roof, either. You should probably ask someone more qualified, lol.

The hawk got about five total. Three over the course of a few weeks, and a few days ago I caught him take off with two little ones at once. I filed a complaint with animal control, and they said he'll be tagged as a nuisance. Hopefully they'll do something with him soon, since it's illegal to take care of him myself.

ya, i guess you dont have a roof or you would still have your chickens. that sucks that they have gotten so many. bet they dont even eat them.

I'll probably be putting a roof up come spring. I left the run uncovered because the big chickens let themselves out to free range. That hawk is really brave. The coop is attached to the house, so he knows there are people near him when he does it. I think he might be a she with babies. It doesn't matter to me, though. There are plenty of squirrels still out ruining my garden that she could be eating.

i attached the dog kennel to my run so i got an extra 10x20ft. im not sure if i will seperate them or just open it up for them all. i have way too many roos. i like them all. only thing i can think to do with some of them is cull because no one around me wants them but i sure cant pick. think they could do the short straw thing?
