She's a standard sized hen. She's a golden sex link, so it's pretty surprising that she's gone broody.

i had rir go broody. just once though. she hatched a couple . what is humidity supposed to be at? mine was 25 before i added water its 45 now

Well, back to square one. Can't figure out how I would heat an outdoor aviary, so looks like coturnix may be in order instead of buttons. By the way, do guineas come in different colors?

are you sure you need heat? what state do you live in? guineas come in a few colors. just a guess about 16 . i have blue, slate, pied, pearl, white, chocolate and i dont know. lol you should try to spend some time with guineas before you get any. they are a bird of a different sort, for sure.

I live in western Washington. The finches don't need heat (I have them heated only because it's REALLY cold right now), apparently, but if I wanted to get button quail, they need 60+ degrees at all times.

Huh, didn't know they came in different colors. I think I may have to go see some in person.

thats a big difference. to fragile for me !! guineas, people either love them or hate them. lol they are loud, ugly headed, pretty bodies caricatures.the eat ticks, any bug really, fend for themself mostly and are pretty funny. hard to tame and creatures of habit.

How loud are they? I don't think the neighbors would mind, but... Never know.
