i cleaned a guinea once. it was really dark almost black when i got done. i did clean it to eat but when i finished with it i gave it away to someone that was hungrier then me. a lot harder to clean, pluck, die then my chickens. and i have only ate one of them.
She's never been hit by a spur before, so I don't think she'd care much about that. We had a rooster that was so mean... we ended up naming him Hannibal. He got me on the thigh pretty good once. He was big, too. I hate to have a run in with a turkey!
ouch!! thats why i have bantams they spur my boots, no problem. lol i have a few big roos when i first started out that chased me and tried to spur me but i was faster then them. i have a couple now but they are big babies. except for the one i ate that is.
That mean old thing ended up getting cocci. I guess I kind of miss him, since he had so much attitude. We've got a pretty swedish roo now. He's a nice guy, too.
those are pretty birds. i dont have one, yet... i dont know how people can keep just one roo. i want them all. they dont fight. sometimes i have one too big for his britches and off he goes but not very often. i think most of my last hatch is roos
Before that nasty hawk, I had four bantam roos in one pen. They got along great! I have a cochin chick picked out from the bunch we ordered, and I'm pretty sure it's a cockeral. I agree, I love having multiple roosters. They're just so pretty!
