I have a pullet that appears to have been exposed to insecticide. She has become lethargic, stopped laying over a week ago, reduced appetite. She isn't egg bound as her body has become very thin and I don't feel any eggs in there.

I gave her some yogurt with scratch mixed in yesterday. Today she had very runny poo. I'd like to save her, but not sure she will make it.

Any suggestions on treatments?

Thanks in advance.

When I had a case of Cocci in my young hen, I thought she had been poisoned also. She was lethargic, weak, lost weight etc. (No blood in poop). I had both a fecal culture done then an autopsy and it was a mad case of Cocci that I couldn't seem to get under control with meds. (which is rare)

Does your hen wobble or act like her legs are giving out? Does she hang her head or tuck it down under her in front? Do you see blood at all in her poop?

This is one of the more common illnesses with chickens and usually responds well to Corid-which you can get at any farm supply. However, I would recommend reading up on Cocci first and make sure the symptoms fit before medicating for any illness. Good luck!

She start showing these symptoms at the same time my 2 cats started having issues. There is no blood in the poo. Only today did she show any signs of weakness by stumbling.

I'm pretty sure it is poison as it didn't happen until after my hubby sprayed insecticide around the house just before the cats and chicken started acting odd.

No other birds are showing any signs of a problem.
