possible malfunction with my brood coop help please

ok so it was raining very hard today so i checked on my broody and her chicks in her little house the chicks were ery wet but still warm i brought them inside to sleeep inside for the night with there mom im woudering could they have died if i left them out there ? beacue they were very warm but wet is there anything i can do to make sure it doesnt get wet in that littl coop again ?http://www.critter-cages.com/index.php?main_page=popup_image&pID=85 this is what i use

If tri-5-ron is showing your coop, I think I can help. I had the same problem, as my coop is that style. The rain can blow in those western style coops through the ventilation space because the little topper does not have broad enough eves. I took clear, heavy plastic and wrapped the bottom 2/3 of the chicken wire, securing it 1/3 from the bottom with, believe it or not, duct tape. It still lets air out through the top 1/3 and if the weather is nice, I fold it down for more ventilation.

Id guess the water it getting in up top thru thoose open vents. you could use some cheap white slotted vents like you see on soffits and stuff. THey sell them at home depot for a dollar and change a piece. They are over by the flashing and roofing supplies and NOT in the heating section thoose are expensive floor vents for inside use
