An American Dom pullet being reared by an Amercan Game hen (hen just stopped clucking today) is have motor issues, change of voice, and appears to have impaired vision. She has been isolated and will be watched. We are having lots of English House Sparrows and migratory warblers where the chickens forage. Some of those dragging their back ends in flight and slow to evade me. This time of year I see this stuff.

If I'm gonna get sick birds it generally is in the fall too with the weather changes, shifts in temperature, and the migrating birds.
Lots of loopy sick looking sparrows around here, and the hoards of starlings and black birds don't help either.

Will you be giving any type of supplements (extra vitamins/E, A, B1, B2) or extra protein to see if that's makes any difference?

Do you regularly do that for your flock? Mine were vaccinated for Mareks at the hatchery but if giving supplements additionally is something recommended how best is this done? To ward it off??

No I don't. As far as I know, I don't have Marek's in my flock.
I rarely give extra supplements to a whole flock. If I have a bird that is not well then I will determine if a boost may be beneficial. Usually with mine, it's reproductive problems in older laying hens.

I gotcha. How would you give the supplements? With extra food support or really as a vitamin or an injectable?

Do you have birds that are sick? If not, then fresh food and water is all they really need.

Supplements, you can use poultry vitamins. I keep Poultry Cell on hand and give a direct oral dose at 1cc per 3 pounds of weight no more than 3 days. If I have a bird that's not getting better in that time period, I will usually cull, but each situation is a little different. Observe, access and make decisions.

I have had the one that has been acting so strangely the last week. I really think it’s just the excessive heat but I have been trying to get as much information on any symptoms of stuff that I can and how to treat things just in case and writing everything down especially if it’s from a reputable source- like you. So that I will know what to do quickly if something really arises and comes to a head with her very quickly and specifically I will be prepared hopefully. That is my plan. 😊

Well, if you have problems, then it would be good if you started your own thread so you're not hijacking Centra's. :)
