So the hen is most likely Not the mother?
Genetics. The hen is from an egg of our neighbor. The roo a Buckeye, have to ask but a darkish roo (jersey G?) or the roo below.View attachment 4152975

Do you mean Columbian rock? And did you get the egg the little one came out of at the same place you got the hen? I think it would be pretty likely that they’re sisters, or she could be the mom.

Yes Columbian Rock. The 1 yr hen came from the neighbor's egg and I think the pullet did as well. We had 6 of her eggs, 3-4 of which hatched. They looked similar, so I thought, they were related.

My guess is that he is the father of both. Just a guess of course. When I thought Mother & Daughter, I wasn't thinking. The barred roo would not have mated with the hen. Most likely, are sisters/half sisters. Ah family dynamics.

Not our 1 yr old, but he could have mated with her mother again, another CR or Sussex.
