Let me first say that, I read up on here before adding in and kept the two new ones aside in a smaller hen house.I picked them up from a young man in that was raising Meat Birds, Turkeys and these Rhode Island Red, Leghorn mix's I have noticed one of the two is sounding pretty raspy and wheezie.
Hoping someone can help me figure out whats up with Lita, Joan seems to be doing well.

Any idea of age?

Is there nasal discharge? Sinus swelling? Unthriftiness? Ruffled appearance? Loss of appetite?

Wheezing and rasping is not good, but it could be anything from dust, mold, Infectious Bronchitis, to latent MG kicking in CRD (chronic respiratory disease) which is common with transition stress.

More info would be helpful.

Glad you kept them separate. Remember, isolation also means avoided cross contamination through clothing or boots or fence line or air space.

She's eating and drinking just fine, no other signs of distress but that wheeze. My son is tending to the flock and the new girls are all my care so the clothing contamination isn't an issue. I have been washing my hands before and after.
