Lacy butt! Her new diaper I made yesterday

Scovy Momma- How did you go about making that diaper for your duck? do you have like a template or something? I'm trying to figure out how to make diapers for my 4 ducks while they're inside for the winter so I dont have to be constantly cleaning their pen and the floor... and the walls... but I dont know how to go about doing so

Heya Crazyduckmom!
I have 2 finished diapers I made & another one started. Truthfully,I looked at any of the ones online that I could get pictures of & I did & didn't like some of the various different things. I'm not very good at sewing a pattern, but I can manage sewing & stitching. So I got an old bra & made my own really cheap. They are any look depending on what bra you use & I line the cup with water proofing so that it keeps the moisture & smell in the diaper. Then I just go to the dollar tree & buy the biggest pack of feminine pads & cut them in half. A 40 pack of pads makes 80 diaper liners that lasts a bit depending on how much they poop. Over night she gets 2 half pads next to each other to line the diaper. She can stay on the bed over night with no problems or leaks.
.
Total for two diapers cost me a $10 bra,a roll of a strip of velcro was about $3,a shower curtain liner $1,some hot glue, scissors & sewing basics...very basic...& about 3 hours of work & that was only because I was figuring as I go...that,& I sew pretty slow. Now I know what I'm doing better. That,& because the bras have adjustable shoulders & clasps, the diapers are fully adjustable! No having to perfectly measure the bird or buy a bunch of different sizes for a growing duck!

What size ducks do you have? Daisy is a muscovy & only about 4 lbs. right now. I use a D cup for her but it gets cut down to about a large A-small B. If you have like a goose or bigger duck, you'd probably need to find some cheap DD or discount Lane Bryant's or something. I went to WalMart for the cheapest bras. The prettier the bra though, the prettier the diaper. If you put the work into it & can get a very cheap pretty one, might as well go for style!

If you want,I can email you what I did with pictures of the diaper & you can see if that's what you want to do for your kids!

If you wouldnt mind that would be awesome! I have 4 ducklings that are only 6 weeks old right now and they are rather big.... They are part pekin and I believe snowy duck? Any way, they are big, at least compared to when we got them at 6 days old. ha,
