post any and all waterfowl pictures here!!! ponds, pools, aviarys, coops, runs, etc.

They are fawn&white runners, males have kinda a whispering quack and females have the big mouth and are loud lol

When will they start quacking? Right now everyone peeps still lol. I thought I heard a different little hushed sound coming from one of them but it was so hushed. I'm dying to know lol.

Thanks everyone! These babies are so darn cute. I want to let them run the fenced 3 acres when they are older and swim in the BIG pond but I'm attached to them and worried. Any thoughts on the ducks swimming in a pond with lily pads and a lot of fish lol?

Sounds like it would be a duck paradice! they would love it out thier, I am not sure when the ducks get thier voices?, I have not raised babys for a while

I think it really depends on the individual duck because I was told that it wouldn't be AT LEAST until my babies were 6 weeks or so but to expect them to be older. Except I don't think thats true because every single one of my ducks I've known who was going to be what by the time they were a month old. (my runner was a little confusing though!)

Well I have baby chicks coming tomorrow or the next day and Shifu really needs to go out to the coop so I can use the brooder. BUT she is still terrified of the others. I keep taking her outside to the pools and all she does is stand on my foot until the ducks leave the pool lol then she runs and jumps in.

Did she grow up on her own or something? My Blue swedish likes to see the other ducks, but prefers to have her own space while she chooses whether to say hello or not...she's more of a people duck than a duck, duck. haha

BTW she's cute :)

Yeah, she was the only one to hatch and she been brooded in our living room. I swear she thinks she's one of my kids. Even when she's outside with the kids she's always underfoot to someone.
