I have read almost the thread about "Raising chicks" and some other ones and I've looked that a lot of people have chicks today. Some are hatching their own and some are ordering their own. It looks like each year the world is filling up with more and more chickens don't you think? OK I want to know (and I know that y'all want to know too) who has chicks today or is getting some? and which breed? here are mine and luvchikies.

LUVCHIKIES CHICKS

30 Ideal 236 pullets
1 frizzle (from DDD)

JHONNYAKASKITTLES CHICKS

5 black australorp
5 buff orpington
6 ameraucanas (Aurora's babies. see my page to know who is aurora)
5 black sex-link
3 delaware
4 my white leghorn X - this is my own "breed" that I made which is a X or a mix whatever you want to call it
2 frizzles (from DDD)

I "BELIEVE" those are it, can't remeber with so much chicks! lol

SO go ahead and show us what you got for 2009

ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!! if you have chicks in the ages of 8-9wks old please post pics of them here in this link https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=149942 ITS REALLY IMPORTANT!

I think she changed her order a bit to include Buff and White Leghorns and Salmon Faverolles. I can't remember what else. My order originally had Delawares and Orloffs, but I changed my mind too lol.

I currently have 13 one month old bantams, eggs in the bator due to hatch on Valentines day and have to pick up some chicks from silkieluver_07 that she just hatched lol. Oh and I think TSC will have their first round of chicks in on Valentines day, so I will be there seeing what I can snag!

I just bought 15 4 day old leghorns from a local farmer. (They are 9 days old now and doing wonderful.) I also purchased 2 dozen RIR eggs from him that I put in the bator on the 27th. I'll go out and get some pictures later today

I bet those leghorns will be egg laying-machines! with LARGE eggs. I remember those RIR I had they looked funny when they were feathering out. They were yellow on the stomach and the little red feathers coming out of their crop

. Sending you hatching vibes too

Dipsy Doodle Doo, where ever you are please answer this. Do the frizzles have a 5th toe? or was that a deformity?
