So sorry about your chicks but stay hopeful. I once went crazy thinking my chicks were late and I called the post office every 30 minutes all day only to end up realizing I read the invoice wrong and they were not due to be there for another month. Boy did I feel silly.

It's not 9:30a in Seattle, yet... maybe they'll arrive on their own time zone??

Here's to hoping they arrive safely.

It's now 9:49 P.M., 12 hours after they were supposed to arrive, and NOBODY at USPS knows where they are, worse nobody really cares.
I can only hope the USPS goes bankrupt and and all their incompetent idiot employees lose their jobs and starve to death.

Yeah, the USPS stinks. Sorry about the chickies. I hope you get them soon!

YOu should march to the HQ and knock some heads. If that happened to me I would be cursing up a storm at everyone who works there. To bad you cant sue them.

Hi Joe, I am sorry about your chicks. Have to tell you the USPS did a great job with my chicks from MM. The Martinsville PO called me at 5:35 AM on 4-20 to let me know my chicks had arrived. All 28 of them arrived alive & well. They are really doing well. My five birds that I got from you are doing well too! I am re-homing one of them, his name is Dennis, and my friend needs a new roo. He is a great looking bird! I will miss him. I ended up with three girls, two roos. I am taking the other roo to the vet on Saturday. His beak was larger and broader than Dennis. Now it is somewhat twisted. The vet's office receptionist does not think the vet can do anything for it, but I wanted to give him a chance, he is truly a gentle bird. I am also giving my friend some of my Buff Brahmas, I only want 22 birds. Ted has my coop finished, he did a good job on it. We have a 16' X 32" run, but are going to increase it by 16 X 12". Take care and tell Anne I said hello. Theresa

Thank God for pips&peeps here on BYC. She (Jean) sent me a PM giving me a telephone number to call. They connected me with a lady at the Indianapolis post office who really was concerned about my chicks. She promised that she would find them whatever it took to do so, and that she would call me back. About a half hour later, she called and said that they were at the air mail terminal at the airport. She called and had them trucked to her. I went down at 11 P.M. and picked them up from her. I brought them home and fed and watered them. A couple were really beat up from being shipped God knows where for two days. I took all but one out to the silkies, and good old Victoria, gotta love her, spread her wings and took them all under her to mother. I really don't think the one I kept downstairs is going to make it. I think it has a broken leg and wing. There's another with Victoria that I'm not sure of, but very hopeful. Thanks everyone for helping me through today, and I will answer you individually tomorrow. Right now, it's 1:02, I'm worn out, my beer can's empty, and I'm going to bed.
ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL!

EDIT: BTW, I really think that if I had not gotten them tonight, several would have been dead by morning. They were really hungry, thirsty, stressed, and tired. Can't thank Jean enough for her help.
