POST OFFICE LOST RESCUED BIRDS!

Quote:
Yes, he is taking care of them now, even though he did sound scared when I asked him to open the box and give them a cup of water...

but he said he sure would do it.

After all the calls and upset people calling the post office, he will probably be sitting with the birds and chicksitting with them all night. You should have asked him to give them a snack while he was giving them a drink!! I am very happy they are almost home.

Whew!

I can not believe the PO said no fruits...well, maybe we should not ship any cakes and cookies to our soldiers overseas!!!! What a crock! No where did I see that in their brochures and I will ask my good friend the post master general inspector here in Illinois and find out for sure. He is the one that has to deal with alot of bull crap going on and he puts me right on the line and just say his name and they will be reported. OOOOOOOOOOOO, now I got them scared! LOL

No one is pointing fingers or blaming everyone for their mishaps..........I think it is usually overstressing out on where are the birds thingy going on LOL! Like every worried parent with a lost child would be!

I am relieved that they are doing fine! Now you can just relax and hope they will be at their destination very soon!

Give that postal worker a bundle of homemade cookies...they deserved it!

I am glad they were found my birds also were supposed to be overnight and they took 2 days, no one feed and watered them, they were fine when I got them, so I'm sure yours will be too. so have hope they will be in great shape.

I'm so glad you found them and they are ok! Shipping birds is always nerve racking for me, but it's never gone wrong (thankfully)

Even though it is OVERNIGHT express, in the contract it states the package may actually take up to 48 hours to ship. That's what the post office lady told me when I went to ship my first birds. I had put a cucumber in with them though, so it wasn't a problem. She told me a lot of people don't realize that this is the case, that express is not always overnight.

Don't be discouraged from shipping birds again! It's not always bad, however it would be easy to get along without it too.

I am happy to hear they will soon be home and they are in safe hands.

I am glad they made it - I have shipped and been shipped from all over- The Express Idea is in it's self is a good one
However it rarely works that way - most of the time if you ask Priority and Express take the same amount of time-

Remember they do not want to ship " Lives" to start.
I leave Ohio to ship lives from PA and avoid Cleveland when ever possible . Several PA people leave PA to ship from Ohio
Kinda like hatching whole thing has no logic to start.

Wow what a relief! I have heard before about the fruit shipping being a big no no. OK Here is someones chance to be creative and come up with something we could make or buy that would hold some water but not spill or something moist. Put your thinking caps on. I am looking forword to seeing the pics. Good Luck.

I was so happy to read the good news this morning. Truthfully, I almost didn't look here again because I didn't want to read more bad news.

Have happy days with your new babies.
