Thanks. She is our favorite personality wise but she is completely white on herr breast, no red at all. All my girls are on the light side that way. I need to take some better pics. I have two that are easy to eliminate, one has a wry tail and the othe is on the small side. This one is very white, but the other 3 are pretty similar.

Try breeding then for a white variety. I had a very light silver pair and offspring came out almost white. The red sometimes shows up with age too. I have a pulley who had a full white breast until a month or so ago. Now it's super red except the middle.

Good to know. She is a favorite of my sons. She is the least skittish. I think she is beautiful eventhough she isn't SOP. Not sure when/if we will do a hatch. I love it, but my hubby stresses over them. He takes bit hard if any get sick or don't develop correctly. I still hate to cull and always will but I don't take it as hard as he does. I also love the trading/selling/looking for homes for them but he hates to turn loose of anything. They fascinate me. Not just the Phoenix but all breeds. The variety is amazing.

I was looking at the boys tails on the roost tonight. They have their own high roost and it is really neat to see their tails hanging over. I know we will have a lot of breakage because they are not separate, but I can't wait to see the tail development by next year.

Toplongtailfowl,

very pretty birds. I especially love the pics of the mamas and babies. How do you prevent tail breakage and keep the white ones so clean, or were they prepped for their photo shoot?

Thank you. Actually no none were prepped for photos. These are random photos over the years i has on my computer. I just pick out a few of the best photos. They actually manage their tail pretty well on their own in a big enough pen as long as it's kept clean often. When tail gets really long I sometimes keep them put up by themselves in their own pen with high perches but usually they are in breeding pens.

@Puddin Fluff YeA I usually have to cull as well. I cull young though and hard.

@Toplongtailfowl
Are any of your hens horizontally fanned or that just because they are bloody? Good looking birds by the way
