I know this isn't a phoenix, but maybe some of you guys just like longtails. My yoko has a 46" tail now. The wind was giving us alot of trouble today. lol.

I like the Yokes, I have whites too, I have a male who I cut his tail before winter when it was at 40". I think he is getting close to coming back to that but is pretty rough looking in a breeding pen right now. Here is a picture of him when he was young. I don't have any recent ones.

if it does then the people who wrote it, just like all the other on line stuff about them (hatcheries and such) dont know what they are talking about. It is more widely believed they are of Japanese origin, than their true origin. The onagadori was used of course to help make them, they are from Japan obviously, but the phoenix was not developed there at all.

First sentence "The Phoenix belongs to the race of long-tailed fowl bred in japan nearly a thousand years ago"

Shouldn't the breeders of these birds write these things?

I figure Marc King has it correct on his website. onagadori.com He knows what he's talking about! Lol. Everyone always has their own thoughts on it though. Have yet to see a pic from Japan of a bird with slate blue legs though. If someone has one let me know.

So I've decided to attempt a buff project. I haven't decided where im going to get my phoenix from tho. I talked to boggy bottom and he said to check back with him later in the year, so im going to do that. I don't really want chicks so ill just have to look around at shows and hope someone has some.
