Excuse the duck, it is a camera hog.

I have 3 boys and 6 girls. Some one give me guidance on the best coloring traits to look at as they develop. Some are much whiter around the head/neck than others. Is that better?

Thank you. I look for the breast color on hens and the whiter hackles on male the better. Also make sure for a fuller black breast on the roo. But if your breeding for tail only, choose tail length better

Thanks. They are about 6 weeks now and I am just glad to be able to pick the boys from the girls. I promised a pair to a pair4 h kid but otherwise when these grow out I will be looking at needing to thin out some boys. We only show at our county fair and run a mixed flock so cuts must be made. :-(( I do plan to add a higher roostas these gys are very obviously prone to flying up.

At about 3-4 months is when you should be able to pick the better colored ones.

He is supposed to stay outside but as you can see if I leave the door open he comes right in. Granted the bowl is the cats food bowl.
