They're a little pricey compared to a lot of chickens, I've paid $250 a pair for some of my breeders. PM me if you really want to try some, and I'll get you some numbers figured up. Do you have a color in mind, or just any will do? Some of the more common ones I can do at a little better price for you.

Hello.

I started reading this thread then realized it was dated at 2009 and skipped to page 50 so if I ask anything that's already been asked, I'm sorry.

I'm really interested in learning more about the Phoenix birds. I would like to show them. Somewhere my inner child wants to go way out of the box and get American Onagadories but the truth is that 1) it's really important to me that I show my birds and 2) I really don't have the patience or the desire to manage tails over 5' long. I saw the post earlier about the runs, with the green wood and chicken wire. I was curious if you could send me more information about it like how many birds per run and the dimensions. That would be great. I'm also looking for breeders of Phoenix who show... very important.

I'm not in the market to buy right now, I have to build the right enclosures first. But with a breed as rare as this with show birds even more rare, the sooner I look, the better.

Edited to add: I'm looking for standard size Phoenix, not Bantams

Green boards and chicken wire? Sounds like Boggy Bottom bantams. The housing of the birds depends on what you want, if you want a long tail you want less birds and high roosts. Im new to this too, but that is what i have learned.
