Post Phoenix Pics Please

Beautiful birds everyone. I just wanted to show off my white Phoenix bantam rooster "Quezacotl" We call him Thunder since his real name was too hard for the kiddos to pronounce. I got him from Cy Hyde. I am looking forward to hatching babies from him and my girls from Aubrey. Excuse the dirt on him, he is in with 3 girls right now and they seem to like standing on his tail

Anyone know online where I can find the standards for a silver Phoenix? I thought about taking mine to the county fair. A death in the family is definitely stopping me now, but now I am wondering how close to standards mine is. I just bought mine as a little chick from a store. I can't seem to find decent info anywhere

My son's silver phoenix. He named her Zelda.

She is super friendly, easy to pick up and hold. She loves her free-range time and spends it zoom-low flying from place to place around the yard.

She is definitely the flyer of the bunch, and we will have to watch her and make sure she doesn't clear our 5' high fence as she gets older. She may eventually need to have feathers clipped, we'll see.

Oh don't go to the trouble! Haha! I can post photos of my two and you can critique them. Like I said I got them from a feed store. But they originated from a local breeder who sold them to the feed store (I believe) I sold my other rooster because his tail feathers kept growing in upside down and awkward so I kept the one I have now. Will try and get photos up this evening.

Ok. I look forward to seeing them. I will have my SOP handy when I view them. I would show them regardless, unless they have something that would DQ them. There are seldom any Phoenix at shows. I would love to see more.

Cy did you good on that white roo, he looks great, very similar to the ones I got from him last year. From what Toni-Marie showed me and told me on mine, Cy's whites are actually recessive cream pyles. Look at the breast, easier to tell on a hen of course and see if there is some very faint color to it. You have to look real hard, but on my hens from him, sure enough, after she showed me what to look for, you could see a faint salmon coloring to their breast feathers.

I find that my phoenixes are a little shy. So I never handled them much compared to my others. SO I finally got photos this morning. I just let me whole flock out the coop and took pictures of everyone. Here are my two birds. They are just at 5 months old. The males for some reason about a month ago dropped their tail feathers and then regrew them? It appears that his tail is starting to grow in well now, but he has some ways to go!
