Nice Aubrey!! I like the shojo hen, well, they are all pretty, but that blue silver ginger!!!! That guy has it!!! Need to hang on to that one. He's a real looker. How old is he now?
Very smitten with the blue silver ginger...........however, they all look great!............Looks like a gold Ohiki roo behind the shojo.............................chrisf
Thanks guys. Yep I like that blue boy too. Sent a pic of him tonight to Toni just to be sure I was calling him right. She liked him too.
Amanda,
he was mid/late summer hatch. thinking about 16 weeks now. He just got to full body size and is starting to work on tail and lenght. He does look to have a good base going, so I hope he fills in nice. He'll be worked with for color alone either way, but I feel like he will be a good one anyway. Did get some pullets to breed him too this spring, so hoping I can get some more going with time.
All the others are just out of the brooder, only 8 weeks or so, very young still. The barred up one as Toni pointed out is just another silver barr like his dad. Then I did get a few solid barred too and some blue reds and splash golds, they are tiny still though. Will follow up with more pics as they grow.
And yes, I love those shojos, to me that's the lesser of the two hens too, will try to get one of the solid yellow leg girl soon though both are beautiful and very loved by me.
Chris,
LOL That a quick eye on the stumpy legged fellow. Every heard of Humpty Dumpty? That's him! He's one of Toni's, 1/2 ohiki and 1/2 denizil. Very cool looking guy. with an awesome color pattern. Will get a better pic of him for here too once he feathers back out. Also got a ohiki x schubert pullet too that is very small and a dom white based ginger.
Soli,
It's hard not to like the blue on all that white. I know what you mean though, some patterns it takes away from the over all beauty of the bird more than helping. But it does look good on that white frame.
