Post Phoenix Pics Please

The name of the book An Introduction to form and feathering of the domestic fowl. It's interesting for sure...I have it; Although I pretty much know all there is when it comes to Poultry/longtails. Like him I make it my life long endeaver to learn all I can about the birds I love...I'm still learning...Never to old to... Good luck on your birds.....TM

Well you do have a good blend of several strains that are here to work with and you seem to know how to breed...pretty little cockerel for sure..Has the potential to go several ways in breeding.with the fan tail..I would find a good cubalaya and maybe a spread tail asil or shamo hen to go with him to blend...Another project????..TM

Just thought I would illustrate the multiple (extra) tail feather pairs that occurs in some longtails. Here is one of my young stags around 10 wks old. He has 24 main tail feathers. That's 12 pairs. It makes his tail fan because it is so full.. Reminds me of a Satsumadori.

You know you are killing me especially throwing the satsumadori idea in there.lovely bird.

The new breed index here on BYC could use some better photos of Phoenix - you can keep your watermarks/copyright and still post them so that folks can see what a good bird looks like. The Sumatra needs good photos desperately, too.

I really like the new feedback system and Wiki type descriptions for each breed - if you see something you know is nonsense, you can immediately fix it. Of course, someone else can come along and put in nonsense, but generally speaking this should keep better information out there. With this system you can also review products and/or breeders if desired (I think - by the looks of it you can add/review anything within reason).
