I use a 3 gal. bucket with a float valve that I found online at Grainer. It feeds down to two nipples through a plastic tube then to PVC pipe. The nipples are about 18" off the ground. See the attached photos and check out our coop page for more details.

If I could start from scratch, I would build your coop. Very well thought out and very predator proof to boot! Nicely done.

My setup waters 10 hens with 4 nipples fed from an 11 gallon water tank. I also have water inside the coop on a single gravity bowl system with a 10 gallon tank.

Plenty of fresh water 24/7.

I use food grade 35% H2O2 to keep the water system clean and to keep my chickens healthy.
