Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

We lost one chick to a hawk last week so I am keeping mine in the run right now. They are so ****** at me, lol. I love your hen's name. I am probably keeping one or two chocolate pullets so I have to think of some good chocolate-related names. I thought of a few but they don't seem right for them somehow...

Haha! The website bleeped out my word for "mad." I did not expect that.

Our choc orp is named Godiva. (She thinks she a queen too!)

I think if I had a bantam choc, I'd name her BonBon or Truffle. There's also Hershey, Snickers, Fannie May, etc.

Mocha's sister was Cocoa, but she died last year. I also have Godiva, she's my black hen with my chocolates. I have a mauve named Kahlua, chocolates named Amaretta and Latte. The choc rooster is Bailey. :D

Yes, I can definitely see the naming theme.

We have some Star Wars names here:
Princess Lay-a (white hen)
Darth Layer (blk hen)
Hen Solo (the only Bielefelder we kept)
Chew-BAWK-a (a silkie mix)
YOLK-a (a little quail)

BonBon is one of the names I am considering for my favorite pullet. She is a chocolate LF Orpington but right now her face is white & she's very pretty (I think she is split to mottled). My son named the chocolate cuckoo cockerel "Chip."

This is Geyser. My 7 year old, KaseyJo, named him that. She said, "His tail feathers sometimes shoot up when he's scared or jumping and it's like a geyser!" (My husband and I call him 'Guy' for short when she's not around because out of all our hens, he prefers the redhead...Just like our best friend named Guy). When you have a rooster, how long can they be used to fertilize eggs? Can Geyser stick around for years?! It will we have to put him in the pot once he reaches a certain age? We do want to keep using him or another rooster to keep flocks going over the years for eggs and meat.

Hoping for a pullet. The small comb makes me happy, but those wattles are so darn red!
Any guesses?

It's really pretty, whatever it is! My mottled blue chick is looking like a pullet; I am so happy! She is 5 and a half weeks old.

I think I might actually have 5 pullets out of 10. I have never had so many females before.
I also have 2 jubilees for the first time & I think I ended up with a pair. I really like them; they are gorgeous and very friendly.
