Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Kathy, that one is a puzzler, but at that age, males usually have shiny saddles and hackles. That one looks like my girl Smoky did at that age. She had me completely fooled, too, with her stubby tail and tree trunk legs. The comb is larger than most of my girls at that age, though. Still, the hackles and saddles look female. Bama Chicken once had a cockerel she thought was a pullet for almost five months so they can mess with your head.

I am trying to get a pic of Suede at that age, but photobucket is really acting weird tonight for me. I'll paste it here, but not sure it will work right.

Finally! Here is the pic I was trying to post last night.

She developed her comb and waddles so young, I really thought it was a roo. Only recently I decided they (comb and waddles) were not growing any more. So now, I think pullet! Dang, if I had known, she would be with her sisters at Beth's! She is the only one I kept back from that hatch.

It looks kinda pullety to me, but I'm horrible at sexing. My little boys

Silky and Satin have a little bit of comb now, not quite as much as that, but almost- again, I am going to try for pics today.

Dusty and Smoky @ 14 weeks old (photobucket is fixed, it seems)

This is Smoky, same age. Her comb never really grew much larger than this, but Dusty has a good size comb on her and they are half sisters.

If yours is a cockerel, he's really late blooming, I think. The comb at that age still has me unsure, but I see absolutely no pointy saddles or hackles and they aren't as dark as they'd be with a male.
